Signal is a small studio in Berlin, a tuning lab in Seoul and a borrowed stage in Los Angeles. We make sound objects, wearables and apparel in fixed runs, number every one, and build all of it to be opened.

Principles

Four rules. No footnotes.

Painted on the wall of the first studio in 2021 and not repainted since. Every object has to pass all four before it gets a number.

  1. Tuned in rooms, not labs

    A flat curve on a bench says nothing about a floor. We voice every driver in three real spaces — a club, a rehearsal room, a flat with too many speakers — and ship the tuning that survived all of them.

  2. Small runs, numbered

    Every drop is a fixed run. Each object carries its number, and when the run is gone we do not make more. It keeps us honest about what is worth making at all.

  3. Repair over replace

    One T6 driver opens everything we sell. We stock parts for ten years, publish the exploded views and would rather post you a driver than sell you a replacement.

  4. Stage-tested

    Nothing ships until it has done a night on a stage. If a speaker survives a 3,000-cap floor and a seam survives an LED wall, it will survive your flat.

Twelve objects in the catalogue, four channels, one drop live at a time. Anything that needs an app to work, a second finish to sell or glue to hold together does not get a number.

Each city does one job. Nothing gets a number until it has been through all three.

    The studio

    Ritterstraße 12 is where shells are milled, brushed and opened again. Six people, two mills, one wall of parts, and a bench by the door for anything that comes back.

    The lab

    A treated room and an untreated one, wall to wall. Drivers are voiced in the second; the first is only there to prove the point when the graph disagrees with the ear.

    A 3,000-cap floor we borrow on dark nights. Speakers run at show level, apparel goes under the LED wall, and whatever fails goes back to Berlin in the same case it arrived in.

Process

Six weeks, in order.

The same four steps for every object, whether it is a speaker or a sock. Skip one and it does not get a number.

    Weeks 1–2

    CNC week

    Shells come off the mill one at a time from solid 6061 stock, then get hand-brushed. The offcuts become the objects channel.

    Weeks 3–4

    Tuning

    Every driver is voiced by ear in Seoul, then measured to check the ear was right. The room wins any argument with the graph.

    Week 5

    Fit sessions

    Twelve wrists, twelve faces, twelve heads. Anything that pinches, slips or presses gets re-cut before the run is locked.

    Week 6

    Stage test

    One night on a real floor at show level. Speakers, seams and straps all go; what survives gets its number the next morning.

Repair

Every object opens with one tool.

A T6 driver. It is in every box, and it opens everything from the SG-01 shell to the Loop Watch case. No glue, no clips, no tamper stickers — an object you cannot open is an object you are renting.

  • Two-year warranty. A self-repair does not void it.
